 Containers come in a range of designs to accommodate a variety of cargoes. Cargostore has one of the most diverse fleets of equipment available for either rental or purchase. Standard containers for shipping most types of dry cargo goods are available in 20ft, 40ft, 45ft or 53ft lengths. Special equipment is available for carrying over length or over height or over width cargoes. Open tops are designed to allow for the carriage of over height material or where loading through the end doors of a standard dry cargo container would be difficult, dangerous or impossible. Such cargoes include generators, compressors, pipe work and timber.
For over width or over length material as well as over height cargo, flat racks provide a unitized facility. Construction equipment, cable bobbins and modular assemblies are examples. Also comparatively low value material which is palletized can be accommodated. Side door containers, often referred to as full side access units, allow unobstructed access through the side of a dry cargo unit. Applications include long or delicate cargoes which would be difficult to load through end doors or where the cargo owner wishes to load material whilst the container is located on a railcar. Tank containers allow for the bulk carriage of liquid products such as milk, chemicals and oil derivatives. Tanks can be heated or chilled, or pressurized for conveying gasses. |
