| Cargostore in Brazil |
Cargostore is excited to announce the creation of its first overseas office located at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Cargostore do Brasil Conteineres Ltda opened its doors for business in February 2011 and it has been finalising details to import its first equipment. Cargostore’s Managing Director, Paul Barry commented, "This is a momentous development for us. Not only have we opened our first overseas office but to do so in Brazil is no small achievement. We have identified huge opportunities to supply the growing offshore oil and gas industry with specialised DNV equipment and we are ready for the challenge. In other locations we have been successful working through local agents. However, for various legal and tax reasons, we decided the best way of entering the Brazil market was by establishing a local branch. We intend to work with local partners as well and plans are now being finalised with Brazilian logistics providers. In time we plan to use our Rio de Janeiro subsidiary as a platform from which we can expand throughout South America".
Cargostore do Brasil will initially stock inventory at Macae. We will offer a full range of basic equipment types including mini containers, small and medium sized baskets, and 10ft and 20ft closed and open ISO/DNV cargo carrying units. Larger baskets, tanks and other specialised equipment will follow.
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Chris Legrand as our manager for Brazil. Chris has many years’ experience in the offshore market having worked for a number of the supply majors in marketing, logistics and procurement.
We will shortly launch a new website for our Brazilian venture where details of equipment availability will be one of a number of services on offer. |
